Is there a good explanation anywhere on how to convert between percentages, decimals and fractions? I'm actually quite good at maths and I can do these questions with no problems. I just can't seem to explain it to my daughter.

When you are explaining perhaps you can depict a fraction by means of a pie. For example, if it is 1/4 that needs to be converted to percentage, then think of a pie and divide it into 4 parts. To look at it in terms of percentage you could think of the whole pie as 100 and then find what a 1/4 of 100 is.

Another way to go about it would be to think of 45% as 45 of 100 which is actually 45/100 and then simplify it as much as possible-which would give the simplest fraction.

To convert a fraction to percentage, you could explain that percentage is an amount out of 100-which means the denominator of the fraction needs to be 100. So, multiply the numerator and the denominator by the same number, in order to make the denominator 100. The numerator will then be the percentage!

Its not quite clear but I hope it helps in some way.

The best way is to guide your daughter through as much examples was possible until she gets the hang of it.

80 / 320 which is a quarter innit (aye)

A quarter expressed as a percentage is 25%. If you dont beleeve me you can check it yaself innit. 1/4 x 100 is like well da same as dividing 100 by 4 which is 25 mate.
