Susan Daughtrey 33 Types 5 Months, 4 Weeks ago
Why does Susan Daughtrey have thirty-something types and you say there are only 21 for verbal reasoning?

Re:Susan Daughtrey 33 Types 5 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 21
Susan Daughtrey has been around for hundreds of years so she still has question types that don't necessarily occur in the test anymore. We knew of one student who attended a Susan Daughtrey course who was given a list of question types from the course they didn't need to worry about in the real exam.

It's not such a bad thing to practise other question types. Anything which gives the brain a workout is good. Most nfer 11 plus tests have contained the same 21 types for quite a while. Although unlikely, it is possible that the question types could change which is why we also work on core skills and general brain training.

Hi,
Just read your comments on the 33 types.

My Son will be taking the Redbridge 11+ exams next year. So far I know that Redbridge does NFER exams and they are of multiple type. They only do VR and NVR. What I don't know is which types are relevant for redbridge 11+ exams.

Based on your past exp can you please let us know the following:
1. Are the 21 types mentioned in your site relevant for redbridge 11+ exams?
2. What the good books for preparation for Redbridge exams?
3. Is BOND different then NFER?

Any help will be higly appreciated.

Regards
Krishna

Bond have a much wider variety of question types than nfer. Bond papers are great for general entrance test practice but if you know for fact your school is using nfer papers then you could choose to concentrate on nfer papers.

The Chuckra Book 1 for verbal reasoning is pretty good if you are doing an nfer exam. Also look at Walsh, Mrs Guyon and actual nfer practice books as well. It might be a good idea to throw in some Bond practice just in case something new comes up.
