Better for who? What an inane bunch you all are. Your selfish ambition takes no account whatsoever of the simple fact that for every bright child swept up by a selective school is one less in the BSC (work it out). As a consequence the BCS's get lower results - parents panic and do what ever it takes to rescue little Isabelle/Johnny from that dreadful place. A self perpetuating cycle.

"you have got to do what is best for your children" translates as whaterver the cost to the children of others.

Amazed - what are you doing on this site if you aren't trying to get into grammar school? Bit hypocritical isn't it?

who cares about the thick kids who have no interest in learning. Why should they pull down the children who really want to learn?

This country is full of lazy people who expect everything for nothing. Grammar schools encourage the bright kids to put in effort to work towards a better future.

My children were previously in private schools but sadly I can't afford that in this country. My children are both bright and keen learners. I think they have every right to strive towards getting into a school with other like-minded students.

'Amazed' - I hope your children get into Grammar school so they don't turn out like typical Labour voters!

Go independent if you can. It's the only way of getting a decent education these days unfortunately.
