My son also found the English harder, it is usually his best subject and found the true/false answer format strange. I'm not sure that a 50/50 chance of getting the answer right is a good indication of a childs English ability! however everybody is in the same boat. He also found the maths easier than expected and the VR ok, with one section very hard.

I have read with interest the comments regarding the 'fairness'of the private versus state educated children and would like to share my thoughts on the matter ----
We have sent our son to a private school and we have had excellent help from the school with prep for the 11plus, however it is HIM who sat the exam. Whether fees are paid to a school, a tutor or by the hours a parent invests in the education of their child, it will be HIS hard work that may or may not get him through. My son deserves his chance along with EVERY child.
