Good Luck to all on saturday, am really nervous for my daughter this time round. Last year for my son i wasn't so nervous. Still my daughter has really put her all into studying, and i have told her that if she doesn't pass, at least she knows deep down she gave it a shot.
I am really looking forward to getting it over so i can get my life back, lol! I dream verbal reasoning questions most nights, now thats totally wrong, lol!
Good luck, and lets hope when we find out in march it is good news!

Thanks for all your good wishes ... and the same goes for you too. I think I can echo ALL your sentiments and observations from personal experience. What more can we tell our children than what the well wishers around them (if our experience is anything to go by) have already said / are saying? I am sure the nervousness your daughter (although it sounds you are the more nervous of the two) and my son is experiencing right now is because everyone realises how important the exam is and the great expectations (not sure how much of that could have been avoided) ... all we parents can do is provide a loving environment and reassurance ... I am doing small bits and bobs now, mainly around words and approach ... not much else can be done ... I'm telling my son to attack the paper with ruthlous rigour and give it his best shot. Let's hope for all our children sake that luck won't feature in the outcome and they will get their just desserts.

totally agree with the above wish everyone good luck and hope no one is too traumatised by this. Hopefully will be able to relax and put March to the back of our minds until Feb ( not sure will be able too ) also hoping I do not over grill child too much on how they think they did and try and work out my own conclusions on what school may be offered. What will be will be !! child far more relaxed than me and as he says Ive practised hard so it should be ok.

My son is also taking it on Saturday and I thought he was very calm and laid-back about the whole thing, until last night!
He had a very tearful attack of the jitters last night, after doing his mocks at school, which anybody who knows him will say is very unusual for his personality. Which just goes to show even usually very confident children are feeling the stress.
I wish the 11plus could take place at each childs own school, I'm sure most parents would be happy to pay for the administration of this.
A mug of hot chocolate [and a glass of wine for me!] hopefully eased the situation, along with my words of wisdom?? But roll on Saturday ------ Good luck to all the Essex boys and girls. xx

good luck to your son. I am in your shoes. I dream VR in the last week. After Saturday, we'll relax until February. My DD is showing no signs of worry, which scares me.

Good luck to all on Saturday from Herne Bay in Kent. I think that sometimes the parents are more nervous and stressed than the children sitting the exam, I know I was! As I've mentioned in other threads during the summer, and from our experiences in my daughters class with her friends, the children who worked hard and put in lots of effort all passed.
To Mr John Barber, a special good luck to your son, have a very large Brandy when it's all over, you won't know what to do with your spare time!!! Please let us know how it goes, I know my daughter said she felt confident when she texted me after her exams from the school loo's. I think the children know themselves how they did as soon as the exam is over. Anyway for Saturday night it's party time for them, with lot's of treats. Again Good luck to all.
